My first day as managing director of a hotel 15 years ago.
What do you cherish most about your daily work routine?
The fact that something unexpected can happen every day at every moment – the work routine in a hotel is full of surprises.
What will be the biggest professional challenges for you in the next few years?
To continue leading our hotel in Basel into a successful future. This mainly includes improving our services and boosting customer satisfaction.
Furthermore, the upcoming modernization of all bathrooms in our hotel rooms will be a major project containing numerous challenges.
What other profession would you have chosen apart from hotel management?
There has never been any other choice for me.
How does one become managing director of a hotel?
By being at the right place at the right time!
What do you love most about Basel? Can you give us an insider tip for your city?
The best thing about Basel in the summer are the numerous little food shacks (“Buvetten”) placed alongside the banks of the Rhine, where you can enjoy cold drinks and tasty snacks. Another highlight on a warm summer’s day is the official swim in the Rhine.
